Social Medias and how they affect you
According to the majority of people, social networking
sites, for instance Facebook, are believed to have a dismissive influence on
human beings and the world. In my opinion, even though they still have many
advantages, I’m convinced by the fact that they have a negative impact on
mankind.
Firstly, it is harmful to health. Spending hours just scrolling through social media will not only provide you no productivity, but also you will strain your eyes. Whether you use your phone or computer, it will make your eyesight worse. Secondly, it makes you become obsessive. As many people are using it, you have an urge to see what are they up to, what they are doing, etc. It makes you depend on celebrities, your friends, classmates and behave like they do. You want to be involved in everything that is happening. Finally, it makes individuals distance themselves from their real friends and spend more time with people online. By having small amount of interaction with the real world, the web becomes the only priority in your life.
On the other hand, these sites still have advantages. For instance, you can find your distance relatives and contact them. You can also get in touch with your friends or family members, who are abroad. It also helps you connect with people, who share your interests and hobbies. Furthermore, as there are numerous news and media sources, it provides you information about what’s happening in the world.
In conclusion, although social networking sites ensure many useful data, and help you connect with people, the harm they cause still dominates the benefits.
