If you ever had a chance to be part of some past historical event, what would it be?
History is a sequence of events and facts that make up our present, past and future. Consequently, these events are not the independent cases happening on their own, but are the facts responsible for certain impact left on the society. No matter what response this influence could have in the human community, it causes massive fundamental changes in society and on its future development. Beyond any doubt, there were boundless events and social movements that played a bulky role in changing the whole path of world history. If I ever had a chance to be part of some past historical event than it would definitely be the Renaissance.
The first irreplaceable thing that the Renaissance brought to life is the humanism, which I believe is a vital achievement. This was the period where human being more than ever was considered as a figure of inspiration. Moreover, they were accepted as vile creatures with the absence of a priority to be glorified. However, Renaissance superseded all those conditions by adding freedom and respect for each individual. Meeting all the politicians and understanding their aims and points will give me a huge achievement in this. As a true humanist it would be supreme pleasure to witness a period when the humanism was born.
Secondly, the Renaissance is about genuine art. Before Renaissance, artworks that were accepted by society, included religious context, but this period showed, that simple human beings can also be seen, as a figure of admiration. As we know in this period of time, the world presented geniuses such as Michelangelo and Raphael Santi. It goes without saying that they had some uniqueness in them. Personally, I consider the main reason was the establishment of freedom in self-expression, consequently artists had a chance for expressing their feelings and emotions through paintings and sculptures, but this time they were authentic and realistic.
Finally, it would be a huge opportunity for me to meet one of the greatest masters of Renaissance: Leonardo da Vinci. For me he is unique genius, as his mastery includes spheres from engineering, mathematics, biology, art and literature. The achievements that he has made and the things that he invented were too advanced for his time period, so I think it would be quite fascinating to meet him personally. The person who has created so many things would probably be very extraordinary and unlike usual human beings. This would give me an opportunity to ask him the questions I have always wondered about.
To conclude, we are not likely to choose the era to live in, but as human beings we are inclined to imagine ourselves in the period which seems to be more attractive for us and maybe more challenging. If I could ever be empowered with the ability to go back into the history, I woubbld rather appear in the Renaissance where I could witness the worshipping of human being within the scope of a genuine art created by great Michelangelo.
